We invite you to participate in a conference dedicated to scientific integrity and AI, which will be held on Tuesday, April 14, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., in the IMAG building.
In recent years, we have witnessed an explosion in the capabilities and use of AI, which offers new, effective, and compelling solutions in all fields. Some of these tools even make it possible to overcome obstacles that scientists have faced for decades. In light of these developments, a fundamental question arises: can artificial intelligence systems take on the role of principal investigator (PI) and autonomously conduct a scientific research program? What are the developments and risks for scientific integrity with the advent of AI? Can its use be regulated?
We will address these questions during presentations given by two experts in this field: Alexei Grinbaum, chair of the CEA's pilot operational committee on digital ethics, and Karteek Alahari, deputy scientific director of AI at INRIA. Their presentations will be followed by a round table discussion with Cyril Labbé (professor at UGA), Cédric Lauradoux (member of the UGA Scientific Integrity Committee) and two associate editors: Vincent Artero (CEA) and Renaud Demadrille (CEA). The round table will be co-hosted by Sophie Achard (Director of the MIAI Institute) and Carole Duboc (Director of Labex Arcane).
The morning program will end at 12 noon with a lunch providing an opportunity to continue discussions.
The conference will be held in English.
