Summer School 2026 | Environmental contaminants: become the experts

The CBH Graduate School is organizing a summer school on the theme of environmental contaminants from June 22 to 26, 2026. The event will take place on the Saint Martin d'Hères campus and is open to Master's and PhD students.

What are their origins? How can their toxic potential be assessed? How can they be detected? Can all risks be predicted and controlled?
Conduct an investigation with your project team and identify the risks linked to a real-life situation.

Program overview:

Introduction to the diverse environmental contaminants

Human and environmental health risks associated with plastic pollution  Marie Carrière (SyMMES, Chemistry Interface Biology for environment Health and Toxicology team)
Health risks associated with environmental exposures Renaud Persoons (TIMC, Environment and Population Health Prevention)
Capture and transformation of toxic chemicals in nanoporous material Eric Borguet (Temple University, Philadelphia)
Risk management in the industry (speaker to be confirmed)
Soil bioremediation (speaker to be confirmed)
Pollution and human behavior change (speaker to be confirmed)
  • Workshops (Ex: Cancer Risk Estimation)
  • Team projects
  • Visits to laboratories and private companies

The event will be held in English, and no technical knowledge is required.

For doctoral students: you can have this summer school validated by your doctoral school for your training credits (35 hours).
